In 1932 the institute became part of the university of london and subsequently moved to occupy rooms in the north wing of senate house. They cover all levels of education from pre school and school through to further higher teacher and adult education in formal informal and experimental settings. We have collections on research practice policy and thought in education and related areas.
Ioe students and staff also benefit from free admission to other ucl libraries the university of london library and the british library all within walking distance of our campus. The first librarian miss geraldine de montmorency was appointed in 1925 on a part time basis only becoming full time in 1940. The entrance to the ioe is on level 3 20 bedford way. The library is currently only open to current ucl students and staff and external borrowers who still have valid cards.
